Smart Scanner (Data Import)
Kaptur eliminates the tedious task of manually typing each buy or sell order. Thanks to our smart scanner, you only need to take a screenshot of the orders on your broker and import it.
Batch Upload Screenshots
If you had a very active trading session with multiple executions, you can process all your screenshots at the same time.
- Tap the Scanner button (camera icon) in the bottom navigation bar or the Dashboard.
- Use the app's image picker to choose all the screenshots of your trades. You can also select the images directly from your system gallery and choose the Share with Kaptur option to send them all in batch.
- The images will load into the Batch Processing section, showing a list of cards with their corresponding status (Pending, Processing, or Ready).
- If you want to remove any screenshot from the import queue, simply swipe the transaction card to the left or tap the delete button.
Tabbed View: Smart Fix (Interactive Correction)
Sometimes, broker screenshots can contain blurry text, non-standard abbreviations, or confusing commissions. Kaptur solves this with the Smart Fix tabbed view with sliding tabs.
- Tap on a processed transaction in the import queue.
- The screen will display the editing interface structured into two sliding tabs:
- Receipt: Presents a form with the editable fields Kaptur extracted (Ticker, Buy/Sell Direction, Share/Contract Quantity, Price, and Commissions).
- Journal: Allows recording qualitative trade data (emotional state, playbook compliance, notes, and tags).
- To verify the original screenshot, tap the interactive image thumbnail in the top-right corner of the title bar or press the image link to open a full-screen viewer with touch-zoom support.
- Directly modify any data in the form that does not match the reference image exactly.
- Tap Save to permanently archive the transaction in your journal.
Zero-Tap Scan (Automatic Scanning Settings)
To save as much time as possible, you can activate automatic scanning without having to open the app and search for images manually.
- Go to the More menu in the navigation bar (Settings).
- Turn on the Zero-Tap Scan toggle.
- Grant gallery read permission to the app when prompted.
- With this option active, whenever you take one or more screenshots of an order on your broker and open Kaptur, the app will silently detect the new images in your gallery and process them immediately so you only have to review them. If multiple screenshots are detected, you will be prompted to import all of them together automatically.
Storage Management (Auto-Cleanup)
To keep your gallery clean and free up space on your device, Kaptur can help you delete screenshots once they are processed.
- Go to the More menu in the navigation bar (Settings).
- Under the Storage Management section, turn on the Suggest screenshot cleanup toggle.
- With this option active, each time you finish a successful import, Kaptur will automatically request Android to delete the corresponding screenshots. The Android operating system will show you a final confirmation dialog before moving them to the trash.
Manual Transaction Creation
If you prefer to enter your data manually or do not have a screenshot handy, Kaptur allows you to create trades from scratch:
- On the main Dashboard, expand the floating menu (+).
- Tap the green Manual Operation button (the small + icon located above K-Calc).
- Fill out the form with your trade information (Ticker, Direction, Quantity, Price, Commission, etc.). By default, the form pre-fills with your active broker account, the current time, and USD currency.
- If you wish to attach a screenshot later, you can do so directly from this screen using your camera or selecting an image from the gallery.
- Tap Save (check icon) in the top-right corner to archive the transaction.
NOTE
Manually created transactions will be permanently marked as Manually modified. Because of this, they are excluded from Kaptur Studio to prevent sharing via templates. This feature is completely free and unlimited for life.
