Trading Journal
The Trading Journal is your main database, where you can review the chronological history of all your past buys, sells, and executions in a clear and visual format.
1. Search Past Transactions
To find specific trades in your history without scrolling forever:
- Go to the Journal screen in the bottom navigation menu.
- Type the name of the asset in the Search bar located in the header (for example, type
AAPL,TSLA, orNVDA). - The list will update instantly to display only the transactions of the asset you searched for.
2. Using Quick Filters
Kaptur allows you to filter your trades to study specific behavior patterns or isolate certain strategies. In the Journal header, you can tap and filter by:
- Ticker (Asset): Filter to view only the transactions of a specific asset.
- Tags: Isolate trades associated with a technical strategy (e.g.,
#Pullback) or specific psychological behaviors (e.g.,#FOMO,#Plan). - Date Range: Limit the view to transactions from today, this week, this month, or a custom date range.
- Broker Accounts: Switch between your different subaccounts or simulation and live environments.
3. Detecting Broker Inconsistencies
One of Kaptur's most advanced features is the accounting reconciliation of your prices and commissions. When you import your orders, the application compares the calculated accounting with what was originally reported by your broker.
- Reconciled PnL: The net result of your trades mathematically calculated by Kaptur using your chosen accounting method (such as FIFO).
- Broker Reported PnL: The profit or loss exactly as recorded on the broker statement.
- Discrepancy Alerts: If the system detects that the reported and reconciled PnL differ (due to average cost calculation issues, wash sales, hidden commissions, or partial fills), a visual Warning indicator will be displayed on the trade with an explanation of the difference. You can tap on the warning to view the assigned lot details and correct them manually if necessary.
